I started using this garage on recommendation of another local. Two MOT's were carried out on two different cars without experiencing any problems. A third issue resulted in a quote by a mechanic of 'approx. 200'., which I accepted. On collection of the car I was charged over 550. At that point I strongly protested and an arguement developed with the mechanic who told me the 200 quote was just for the part, and LABOUR and VAT was extra! Yes, 350 extra. Nice one. I refused to pay and was finally offered a misery discount of a few tenners off the labour charge. I was still not happy, couldn't talk to the boss/owner who wasn't on site that day, and the mechanic effectively took my car 'hostage' by refusing to release my key if I wouldn't pay up. I paid under protest and decided never , ever, to use Winchcombe garage again. Which is also my advice to you.
