We visited the Spectacle of light one evening.Great to see the Castle grounds by night, the lights were interesting, with an Alice in Wonderland theme.Would recommend for next year
Lovely grounds, a pleasant way of spending a day. The local area is also lovely with plenty of places to eat and explore. Good parking space at the castle.

We chose to come here on a whim. We were in the general area but it was still about a 30 minute drive for us. We were only in England for a couple days before flying out to Ireland so we had to prioritize where we wanted to go.After looking at reviews and pictures we decided to come here. The views here are absolutely gorgeous! It wasn't very busy when we came to visit. The staff that was throughout the castle and grounds were very friendly and were knowledgeable and able to answer what questions we had.Even though we got tickets for here on end of season pricing I would say that even the normal pricing for tickets is well worthwhile. We were only able to spend a few hours here but there is so much to see that you could easily spend many more hours past that.We will most likely be coming back if we are ever back in this area of England again. Especially if it is in the spring time. Even though we came in October there were still plenty of bloomed flowers throughout the grounds. The groundskeepers keep all of the landscaping here looking amazing.
Lots to see, good exhibitions going into the history that sets the stage for the house and owners. The house has many rooms set out in different eras of the house and such a good set of exhibitions that we'll go back again. Please note that winter opening hours and charges have changed. See photos.
